Why do my drum brakes squeal the first time I press on the brakes?

It only seems to happen the first time I use the brakes. It doesn't happen anymore once the car is warmed up. I have a 2005 eclipse. I just changed the front brakes, so those are ok. What could be the cause of this annoyance?

It,s the friction material that is used on the brakes.These days they use metalic material in the linings asbestos is no longer used .Moisture sometimes builds up in the material when sitting.Making shure you put the e brake on when parking helps
