not hard at all. prob 45 minutes with a friend helping and basic hand tools. check the hydraulics on the new diff before you swap it...may save some down time.

If they interchange, which I'm not sure they do, it shouldn't be a big problem. However, before you go to all the trouble, why not give SSB a call or visit their website. They make a number of conversion kits that will allow you to get rid of the drum brakes and replace them with discs. They do have conversion kits which start at around $ 850 and go up from there, depending upon your needs and pocketbook. Check the site in sources.
